Biomedical Engineering Postdoctoral Scholar Position

Applications are invited for two (2) Postdoctoral Scholar-Employees, with the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of California, Irvine. We seek qualified candidates with experience in Medical Image Analysis for the Workgroup on Signal and Image Processing.
Successful applicants will be expected to participate in an advanced research and development effort centered on the following topics:
- segmentation of anatomical and pathological brain MRI datasets
- classification of neocortical fields by high-resolution anatomical MRI
- spatio-temporal statistics of neuroimaging data (EEG, MEG, fMRI)
Successful applicants should have an advanced degree in Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or a related field, and a proven experience in medical image processing. The initial appointment will be 12 months, starting preferrably March 1, 2006. Salary will range from $34,536 to $43,824 per year and will be based on level of experience.
