Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Scholar-Employee, with the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of California, Irvine. We seek a qualified candidate with experience in fluorescence spectroscopy and microscopy with broad interests in cellular biology. In particular, we are searching for expertise in optical instrumentation development with an emphasis on full field fluorescence lifetime imaging with fast cameras. Specific experience with cellular imaging, lifetime imaging and Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy is desirable. Knowledge of and experience with simFCS and Global analysis packages is required.
The initial appointment will be 12 months. Salary will range from $40,512 to $41,328 per year and will be based on level of experience. Renewal of the appointment will be contingent upon availability of adequate funding and performance. The position requires a Ph.D., M.D. or DMV. Good communication and writing skills are required. The applicant should have experience in physics, biochemistry, optics and computer programming. In addition, the applicant needs strong programming skills and programming interface expertise in developing web page tutorials using tools such as Python, GCC, Win32, Carbon and etc.
