Civil & Environmental Engineering Postdoctoral Scholar Position

Salary: $31,668/year

The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar position beginning August 16, 2006.

The candidate will participate in a research project to develop: (i) innovative and practical signal analysis methodologies for structural health monitoring with emphasis on the on-line damage detection of structures, and (ii) innovative health monitoring systems for nonlinear hysteretic base isolators.  The candidate should have strong background in mathematics and mechanics.  The appointment will be funded for one year, with potential extension beyond that period for higher salary.
